We had a great weekend. In bracket play our 1st game was vs PAC, we won that game 13-6, beat Lamorinda 15-0, played 680 Drivers and lost that game 9-6. That put us 2nd in our bracket. That qualified us for the Semi-Final game vs Diablo Valley who was 1st in the other bracket. We beat them 7-4 and controlled the tempo of the game from the beginning. On the other side of the bracket Santa Barbara got 2nd place and they played 680 Drivers. So there was a chance that we would play 680 again, which I did not want. Not because of the earlier loss to them but because I wanted to play Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara ended up wining that game in a shootout. In the finals we ended up losing to Santa Barbara 12-8 in a game that I felt our flow was disrupted by a substitution that I had to make, which will help us in the future. I believe that improvement is more important than winning, this was a teachable moment that I had to take advantage of. Moving forward those are the teams to beat, along with United. I was really pleased with our big 3. Hannah C., Hannah P., and Nicca F., they played their hearts out and they are the bulk of our offense. But, more impressive were the role players who really stepped up throughout the tournament, I can see us gelling together as a unit. We still have a lot of work to due. Holding set, guarding set, pressure passing, transition defense, shooting, passing, spacing, and strategy. All in all it was a good weekend and I'm very proud and excited about this team. Our goal is to now win San Diego Cup and JO quals.
