My goals

To whom it may concern,

This summer we will focus on strength of mind, body, and commitment. We will undergo mental and physical challenges that will test each one of you.
I have 2 main goal, that we win league and to be CIF Champions.
I also have personal goals for each one of you.

All I can do is give you the oppurtunity.

Are you ready for the challenge?
I ask that everyone on the Boys Varsity Team post their goal in the comment section.

  8. I hope to emerge as a vocal leader and coach in the water critiquing aspects of our team play as well as being open for others to critique what they see when I am in the goal. I wish that my lateral movement in the cage improves as the days go by because cross passes and 6v5 create numerous change in direction of the ball.

  10. My goal this year is to improve enough so that I can competively participate in scrimmages and drills to the point where I am helping those around me improve so that they are better prepared for games. I also want to improve specifically on staying up through fakes and reacting to outside shots

  18. My ultimate goal is to help lead our team to a cif and league championship. while many may argue thats an "impossible" goal, it's definetly not. We have a bunch of talented players, however, I feel that many of them refuse to train to the best of their ability (I'm sure they know who they are).

As a team we need to work on:
    1. Communication
    2. Swimming. Can't stress this enough. Having only 4 players complete the swim sets at practice (1 being a goalie), is sad. That means we only have 3 players who can truly swim, this leaves open 3 players who get countered (we saw this at el toro)
    3. The players playing 1 and/or 5 need to man up and work to get the ball. When I was holding a side in set, I'm waiting for the ball to get around the perimeter to whichever side I'm facing towards but I see the player getting dunked or pushed out. Without them being active, the game becomes extremely hard

as for some of my personal goals, as always, I'm going to continue working on my legs. I'm going to keep working hard in all the swim sets and doing the best I can in the weightroom. Also, i'm going to try and critique younger players, hoping that I can help them become better.

we have a long summer ahead of us but i'm looking forward to it.

  20. I want to be more confident when playing waterpolo, and also get more involved with more of the plays. I would want to help the inexperienced waterpolo players, and maybe lead the junior varsity or freshman team.

  21. My goal is to improve myself offensively and defensively by being able to analyze whats going on better, and from that making good decisions. Having a stronger and more accurate shot wouldn't hurt either. I also want to improve myself physically by getting stronger, faster, and gaining more endurance.

  22. My goal is to become in general a better water polo player by becoming more physically fit, and learning a lot more about water polo. These decisions and or training may result in making junior varsity or freshman team.

  23. 1. Improve defensive play - I'm pretty good at this, but I'd like to get better.
    2. Really, really improve offensive play - throw straighter, stronger passes, and hit the target.
    3. Maybe take on a small leader role on the team.

  27. I have small goals for this season, as well as long-term goals for my waterpolo career.

    This season....
    1. to make Varsity.
    2. to not have a single turnover.
    3. to try and get at least one positive statistic a game. (steals, goals, shot-blocks, etc., if i get put in that game)
    4. to gain a better understanding of offensive play in water polo. Although i've been playing for a while, i think my offense is mediocre.
    5. to be part of the team that will be CIF CHAMPS!!!
    6. to get faster.
    7. to put in everything i've got every practice

    Long-term...
    1. to become a starter on varsity
    2. to start in and win a CIF championship
    3. to get much faster.
